Brewers Pound Reds 9-5 As Bats Come Alive Finally!

Finally someone woke up the Milwaukee Brewers bats and they took it out on the Cincinnati Red yesterday by a score of 9-5. For most of the last two weeks the Brewers have been getting wins with great pitching and little run production. Over the long haul of the season that will not win you a lot of games as you are putting to much pressure on your defense and pitching to keep you in games.

Yesterday, the Brewers got home runs from Ryan Braun and Mike Cameron to help ignite a 6 run fifth inning to power the Brewers to a  win over the Reds. Prince Fielder also went deep as well and he is hitting the ball extremely well as he had another 3 for 4 day. The Brewers need him to stay hot as he is a vital part of their lineup.  The Brewers are now 25-11 since April 22 after a 4-9 start to the season.

Craig Counsell has really stepped up his play for the Brewers since Rickie Weeks got hurt and without him the Brewers would really be in a bad spot. I have also been very impressed with the bullpen this year as well. Last year it seems they could not get anyone out. Bringing in Trevor Hoffman has been a big plus for them and hopefully it will continue all season long. Today the Brewers will send Yovani Gallardo to the mound and let’s hope it’s another big Brewer win.
