Gallardo Helps Brewers Complete Sweep Of Reds 5-2

The Milwaukee Brewers got timely hitting yesterday and Yovani Gallardo pitched well enough to earn the win as the Milwaukee Brewers got a 5-2 win and a series sweep over the Cincinnati Reds. At times Gallardo looked bad, but he fought though it all and did enough to get the win. Sometimes when you do not have your best stuff, you must keep fighting and Gallardo did that today.

J.J. Hardy got the Brewers rolling in the first when he walked and Ryan Braun hit a single and Hardy took third. Cameron single in Hardy and Mat Gamel singled in Braun. In the second inning  Hardy’s sacrifice fly along with a Prince Fielder walk and Mike Cameron home run push the lead to 5-1 and the Brewers never looked back.

Again the bullpen came in and shut the door. Mitch Setter and  Mark DeFelice came in to shut the Reds down and Trevor Hoffman closed it out with his 13th save in as many chances. Today the Brewers travel to Florida to play the Marlins and will send Jeff Suppan to the mound to keep us rolling along.
