The New York Mets are in a tailspin right now, while the Milwaukee Brewers are getting timely hitting and some good starting pitching for a change. Last night they used both of these elements for a 6-3 win over the New York Mets and now the Brewers have won 5 out of their last seven games.  These wins are very important as the Brewers have the Cubs, Cardinals, and Dodgers coming up before the All-Star Break.

Mike Burns pitched 6.2 innings and got his first career win in the Major Leagues. His only real mistake was a first inning home run to David Wright. After that he settled down and pitched well and got the win for the Brewers. The bullpen finished up and did another fine job in closing the game out.

Offensively the Brewers got big games from Ryan Braun who was 3 for 4 and 4 RBI’s. Prince Fielder hit his 20th home run which makes it four straight seasons he has done that. The Brewers must continue to hit the ball and get good pitching as the schedule is tough all the way to the All-Star Break. Every win is important and building a lead would be nice as the break draws near.
