Fielder, Looper Power Brewers To Win Over Reds

facebooktwitterreddit

Braden Looper used his bat and his arm last night and Prince Fielder kept up his torrid hitting streak as the Brewers stop the Reds by a score of 9-6. This was a great start to the second half of the season for the Brewers who need a fast start right out of the gate.

Last night the Brewers got 5.1 innings from Braden Looper as he gave up seven hits and only three earned runs. He also help his own cause by going 3 for 3 and a RBI. That is something that you really do not see from a pitcher so that was an added bonus. Trevor Hoffman came in and picked up his 21st save to close out the Reds.

Prince Fielder stayed hot as he hit a home run and drove in  three runs as well. He also walked twice as teams are starting to find it it is probably better to put him on right now than to pitch to him.  J.J. Hardy also had two hits and 3 RBI’s and he has been hitting the ball much better and is a big key if the Brewers want to keep winning. Jason Kendall also has been playing well especially hitting the ball. Last night the Brewers pounded out 14 hits and when you do that good things will happen. Tonight Jeff Suppan takes the mound so hopefully good things will come of it.
