Just like all season long the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen needed to stop the opposing team and just like most of the year they could not. David Weathers gave up a two run home run to pinch hitter Chris Iannetta in the 11th inning to seal the Brewers fate as the Rockies beat them 7-5. Another loss in a season of what might have been if the Brewers only had some pitching when they needed it. Chris Narveson started for the Brewers and went 5.0 innings giving up five hits and three earned runs. He actually had most of the hitters [...]
Brewers Can’t Figure Out Phillies Bullpen In 6-5 Loss
It seems the Brewers cannot get things going in the right direction or sustain any winning streak these days. With the tying run on third base Mike Cameron looked at a called third strike from Phillies pitcher Ryan Madson to end the threat and the Brewers lost to the Phillies by a score of 6-5. Dave Bush started for the Brewers, but only lasted 4.1 innings giving up five earned runs along with nine hits. The bullpen came in and actually pitched very well for the Brewers. The problem was the Brewers feel behind and when they do that they [...]
Even though the playoffs have been gone for a number of weeks it’s good to see the Milwaukee Brewers have not given up on winning games. Ryan Braun hit a walk off home run in the ninth inning to give the Brewers a 7-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. This win makes it two in a row against the World Series Champions and at least the Brewers are still playing hard. Braden Looper started for the Brewers and went 6.0 innings giving up five runs with only three being earned though. Looper did give up two home runs which has [...]
Prince Fielder Continues To Help Brewers Win Games
Prince Fielder may not be in the post season this year, but he is not going quietly either as the season is winding down. Fielder help power the Milwaukee Brewers to a 8-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Fielder is one player the Brewers need to lock up very long term and make sure he is kept happy. It seems year after year he just gets better and he still is very young. Manny Parra who has missed some starts with neck spasms came back from it and pitched 7.0 innings giving up just four hits and one earned run [...]
Brewers Pounded By Phillies 9-4
It seems the Milwaukee Brewers can not really string anything together these days. No matter if it is the pitching, hitting, or winning streaks. Yesterday the Philadelphia Phillies came in and handed the Brewers a 9-4 loss. The loss was not unexpected as the Brewers these days can not put together anything on a consistent basis anymore. Jeff Suppan started for the Brewers and of late he has pitched well. Last night though was not one of those nights for him. Suppan went just 4.1 innings and gave up 12 hits and seven earned runs. The bullpen finished up and [...]
Chris Narveson decided to stick it out with the Brewers and now he is glad he did. Last night Narveson picked up the win as Prince Fielder went deep and the Brewers stopped the Cubbies by a score of 3-2. It ended the Brewers two game losing streak to the Cubs, but the Brewers still have struggled to hit Chicago pitching of late. Prince Fielder was able to notch his 42nd home run and also grab two more RBI’s to give him 131 for the year. Jody Gerut also hit a home run for the Brewers as well. Even though [...]
Punchless Brewers Fall To Cubbies Again
It seems to be a script that has been written many times this season. Brewers pitching cannot get people out and Brewers hitting was almost non-existent again in the latest lost to the Cubs by a score of 7-2. The only saving grace is the season is about over and it makes taking these losses much easier as the season winds down. Dave Bush who has pitched well of late got nothing going yesterday as he lasted only 1.1 innings. He gave up six earned runs on just four hits and also walked four batters. If you pitch like that [...]
Brewers get Pounded By Cubbies 10-2
So much for the winning streak the Brewers had, so long to the good pitching performances we had, back to the same old Brewers. Last night at Miller park the Cubs flexed their muscle and battered Milwaukee pitchers for a easy 10-2 win over the Brewers. A dose of reality set in for the Brewers fans after winning five straight games. Braden Looper started for the Brewers who had pitched well in his previous start, but last night lasted just 4.0 innings. Looper gave up 10 hits and seven earned runs and was probably glad that he got pulled anyways. [...]
Gallardo Ends His Season With Win Over Astros
Yovani Gallardo knew that yesterday was going to be his last start of the season so he wanted to make sure it was a good one. Gallardo pitched well and got plenty of support and got the win as the Brewers beat the Houston Astros by a score of 6-0. Gallardo was on a pitch count as he has logged a lot of innings and management has decided to shut him down for the rest of the season. Gallardo only pitched 5.0 innings in the game and he gave up just three hits and no earned runs while getting seven [...]
Prince Fielder got his 127th RBI yesterday to break the single season record for RBI’s for a Brewer. The record was 126 held by Cecil Cooper another very good Brewer first basemen. Fielder should be able to add to the record as well. The Brewers added icing on the cake as they won the game over Houston by a score of 7-2. Jeff Suppan pitched a wonderful game for the Brewers going 7.0 innings and giving up just two earned runs and striking out seven batters in the process. The bullpen came in and finished up for the Brewers allowing [...]
