Casey McGehee Powers Brewers To 9-2 Trouncing Of Diamondbacks

Casey McGehee was claimed 0ff waivers last October from the Chicago Cubs and without a doubt has been a great find for the Milwaukee Brewers. Last night McGehee went 4 for 5 with two home runs and drove in six runs in a Brewers 9-2 win over Arizona. McGehee has quietly put his name in the talk about N.L. Rookie of the year. He now has 57 RBI’s and 15 home runs and hitting over .300 not bad for a guy who has been playing part-time mostly. He is a guy the Brewers will want to keep and see what he can do in a full season.

Dave Bush pitched extremely well last night going 7.0 innings and allowing only one run and he had 11 strikeouts as well. Bush is a guy who when he is on it a tough pitcher the problem this year he has been injured and inconsistent. The Brewers bullpen pitched well except for Todd Coffey who came in and let in another run. He is a guy I hope the Brewers cut at the end of the season.

Hitting the ball the Brewers had another good night. Every starter except Dave Bush got a hit and the Brewers excepted this kind of hitting most of the season, but never got it. Either Arizona’s pitching is real bad or the Brewers hitters are finally coming around a little too late though.
