You can't simply ignore the economics and structure of baseball. There is an agreed upon system that has players coming up through the system making a specific amount, and when their time comes, they get paid. Joba Chamberlain made $390,000 this year yet people aren't complaining about players leaving the Yankees. Yvonni will get his money, just like Braun and Fiedler, when he reaches the number of years required. That is the system, it isn't the Brewers fault. If these weren't the rules, you wouldn't have a team. Players like Hardy, Weeks, Yvonni, Fielder, Braun, and even Casey McGehee (to a lesser point) are under-paid in regard to their free market value. This is to allow teams like Milwaukee to compete, even if only for the window before these players hit free agency or become out-priced due to arbitration. So be careful what you wish for.
