St. Louis could be without Wainwright for entire season

This is huge news for the Brewers, yet it has nothing to do with the Brewers at all.  Various sources this morning are reporting that 20 game winner AdamWainwright, experienced some pain in his elbow after yesterday’s workout.  It would appear that Cardinals management is already fearing the worst.

Cards GM John Mozeliak had this to say to reporters;

"Just based on the initial evaluation from our training staff, things do not look encouraging, but before we jump to any conclusions, we will wait until the evaluation this afternoon and at that point we will come out with another statement."

     Citizens of Brewlandia, this is a huge break for us.  Wainwright is one of the best pitchers in the National League.  This sort of news can only make us feel good about our chances to hang with the Red Birds this season.  They still have Chris Carpenter, Jake Westbrook, and Jaime Garcia though.  Losing Wainwright before you even start to dig in to Spring Training just has to be painful.  My man Ray DeRousse over at Redbird Rant says people are openly weeping in the streets of St. Louis.  It appears that Tommy John has struck again.

In Brewers injury news, Mat Gamel strained his oblique.  He will probably miss about a week.  We will talk later on today everyone.
