The Brewers are falling apart

This will be a very short post because I am angry.  The last time I wrote an angry post, I really regretted it.  This team looks awful.  Defense, pitching, and batting.  Not one member of this roster looks like they even want to be on the field.  McGehee and Betancourt are doing everything in their power to finish the regular season batting below .200.  If Braun and Fielder do not drive in runs then no one does and I hate that.  Our team looks like a bunch of overpaid, cocky, little boys.  They look like the Yankees, but without the winning.  In all honesty, I thought this team had found it’s heart during the month of August, but I was wrong.  Teams with heart do not average less than 2 runs over a 10 game stretch in the middle of a division race.  The Cardinals are winning a lot of ball games and we are not.  As of right now, I am afraid that we will blow this.  I guarantee you that the Reds will score at least 3 runs per game this weekend.  GUARANTEE IT.  As of this moment, that means 3 more loses since we can not score more than 2 runs.

A few days ago several Brewers players told us, the fans, not to panic.  Really?!?!?!  What team are you watching?  Clearly you and I have a very different definition of the word panic.  I am beyond paniced.  How can you not be?  You are the flatest team in baseball right now.  There are probably college teams that could walk into Miller Park and beat you right now.  This has to stop, otherwise I am just not going to be able to watch.  You have broken my heart too many times before and I can’t let you do it again.

I will leave it at this.

Dear Ron Roenicke,

If you care about this team, you will remove Casey McGehee and Yuniesky Betancourt from the lineup.  They are an offensive black hole, and when you bat them back to back the implode off of each others inabilities to hit the ball.  Please, do it for the fans.  Do it for the players on your team who can hit the ball.  But mostly, do it for yourself.  Do it for your legacy as Brewers skipper.  There is no possible way that after the 2-4 homestand you just had, you can look me in the face and tell me that McGehee and Betancourt are your best options.  If you tell me that, you are a liar.  If I knew you personally I would tell you this right to your face.  They are dragging this team down.  The bottom half of the batting order is a vacuum for outs and sadly I have to include Lucroy in that too.  The first four batters are all hitting over .280, which is solid, but they only get to bat half of the time.  In the other half you have guys who, by all accounts, may not have jobs next year.  Please Ron, do not let this happen.  You and you alone have the power to right this ship.  We the fans, can only sit by and watch this team self-destruct.  Please sit them down.

Good night Brewers fans.  I sure hope I am wrong.  My heart wants to believe, but my brain is deeply troubled.  I will sleep on it and we will talk again tomorrow.
