@BrianThompson Thank you for reading, and for your comment. I think you have misread me a little bit. I didn't say that Parra was doing terrible this year - just that lately his numbers have not been as good. In his last six appearances, he's given up six runs.

It also concerns me somewhat that Parra has never had a sub-4.00 ERA (or a winning record, or whatever other barometer you choose to use) as a starter, except for 2007 when he only started two games. Like I said he might get settled again, and he might find his groove. I hope he does.

Colin I have no idea what player u have been watching pitch this year, but when Manny Parra comes out of the bullpen he is doing his job extremely well. So far this has statistically been his best season and its not even close. 19 games 24.1 innings 25 K's 9 BB's and a 3.70 ERA not to mention only 1 HR given up. If he does get the 5th starter spot and he can bring this type of performance to the starter role he will statistically be the 2nd best starter on the brewers staff. I would say that is pretty decent depth considering he is the 7th starter. I personally hope they give it to him, and he performs. Parra has all the talent and the pitches it takes to be a really good top of the rotation guy. It has always been his head that has gotten in the way.
