Hello again everyone and welcome to the Thursday morning edition of Brewer Daily News. In the Arizona Fall League yesterday afternoon, the Surprise Saguaros (18-11-1) lost in a 7-6 game to the Peoria Javelinas (11-19).

For the Saguaros, starter Miguel Pena took the mound and was roughed up, receiving his second loss of the league. Pena went four innings, but was tagged for six runs on eight hits, one walk and one strikeout. Pena gave up three home runs in just the four innings of work.

Out of the bullpen, Saguaros’ relievers Matt West and Tyler Sturdevant pitched a combined scoreless two innings while Keone Kela gave up an unearned run in the seventh. Brewers’ prospects David Goforth and Tyler Cravy also pitched a combined scoreless two innings while striking out three and allowing just one walk.

The Saguaros’ offense was powered by catcher Michael Ohlman when he smacked a three-run homer in the seventh inning. Second baseman Mookie Betts went 3-for-4 with an RBI while shortstop Derrik Gibson was 2-for-4 with an RBI as well. Left fielder Henry Urrutia did not collect a hit, but was able to drive in a run. Brewers’ prospects Mitch Haniger, Jason Rogers and Adam Weisenburger did not play.
