Poll: Who Will Start At First Base?

The biggest question surrounding the Milwaukee Brewers this offseason is who will start the 2014 season at first base. In 2013, Brewers first basemen had a combined WAR of -4.6 – worst in the majors. Yuniesky Betancourt and Juan Francisco shared most of the load but with Betancourt gone (hopefully for good this time), Francisco is really the only player on the current roster that can handle the position.

Jonathan Lucroy got some experience last season but he’s more suited behind the plate. Sean Halton saw action in 22 games as a first baseman but inserting him into the lineup as an every day player is reaching.

The Brewers do have Hunter Morris waiting in the minors if they feel he’s ready for the next step (he isn’t) and Corey Hart, currently a free agent, is still a strong option.

I know most of you would like to see Hart back in Milwaukee as he is the best offensive option. But with the possibility of him moving on, the Brewers need to look at other choices.
