Tuesday Tidbits: What's Happening Around Baseball

Spring training is here, the warm weather hasn’t reached Wisconsin yet and the Milwaukee Brewers have a new mascot.

Every player has reported for the Milwaukee Brewers, with the exception of Francisco Rodriguez, who is in the process of acquiring a United States work visa. LHP Tom Gorzelanny and 3B Aramis Ramirez are the only two who are currently injured — Gorzelanny is recovering from shoulder surgery and Ramirez is coming back from colon surgery. Both are expected to be ready by Opening Day.

Ryan Braun met the media for the first time this spring, and successfully side-stepped ESPN’s questions about his performance-enhancing drug use (surprise, surprise).

The Brewers’ first spring training game is on Feb. 27 against the Oakland Athletics. While we patiently wait, let’s see what’s happening around Major League Baseball.
