Sean Halton Outrighted To Triple-A

The Milwaukee Brewers announced 1B Sean Halton has been outrighted to Triple-A Nashville. The 40-man roster now stands at 38.

Halton, 26, hit .238 with four home runs in 42 games with the Crew in 2013, his first season in the big leagues. Because the the Brewers signed first basemen Lyle Overbay and Mark Reynolds, Halton’s chances of making the Opening Day roster dwindled, along with the possibility of remaining on the 40-man roster.

The Brewers now have two roster spots to fill. If LHP Zach Duke and Overbay/Reynolds were to make the team, they would fill those spots. Manager Ron Roenicke acknowledged that the Brewers won’t be able to keep both Overbay and Reynolds.
