Casey McGehee Powers Brewers To Win After Mistake In The Field

Sometimes in baseball mistakes come back to haunt you while other times they show you what your made of.  Casey McGehee dropped a pop-up in the sixth inning which was costly for the Brewers, but luckily for him he was given a chance for redemption. McGehee came through with a Grand Slam in the sixth inning to give the Brewers a 10-6 win over the reeling New York Mets.

Braden Looper pitched well in the game and went 6.1 innings giving up 3 earned runs before the bullpen was brought in. I thought Looper did a good job on this night and it was a quality start which is something we need more of from him. Trevor Hoffman came in to pick up his 18th save of the year.

On this night there was many hitting stars as the Brewers pounded out 19 hits on the night. J.J. Hardy was 4 for 4, Casey McGehee was 1 for 3, but 4RBI’s. Bill Hall was even 2 for 2 and Prince Fielder was 2 for 4, so the Brewers spreaded the wealth around last night. Hopefully they did not use all their hits up last night and they will have some for tonight.
