Brewers Resign DiFelice To Minor League Contract

The Milwaukee Brewers have resigned Mark DiFelice to a Minor League contract on Tuesday. They also signed for Rangers player A.J. Murray on a Minors deal that includes an invitation to big league Spring Training camp to try and win a starting spot. In 74 Brewers appearances over the past two seasons, DiFelice posted a 3.44 ERA and held right-handed opponents to a .218 batting average. DiFelice will earn slightly less than $100,000 in 2010 so he was signed for a bargain.

Craig Counsell and the Brewers have finalized a one year contract as well. I am glad the Brewers brought him back as he can do so many different things for a ballclub. Some former Brewers have found other jobs. Mike Cameron has joined the Boston Red Sox and Jason Kendall has signed with the Kansas City Royals. I was not sad to see Cameron go, but wish Jason Kendall was still a Brewer.  Check out The Kings Of Kaufman Blog article about Jason Kendall. So far I really cannot complAin about most of the moves the Brewers have made. I would have liked to got Cliff Lee, but the Phillies probably was not going to trade him to any National League teams.
