The Milwaukee Brewers have signed former Reds outfielder Norris Hopper to a minor league contract. The signing does not include an invite to spring training though. Hopper split his entire 2009 season between the Triple-A affiliates of the Reds, Nationals and White Sox, batting .281 with a .337 on-base percentage.

In other news the Milwaukee Brewers have added Lew Burdette to the Brewers Walk Of Fame outside Miller Park. He had narrowly missed the last few years, but now he is a member. He  was on the 57 Milwaukee Braves team that won Milwaukee’s only World Series. Sadly he passed away in February 2007, but his family will be there to accept the honor. Other notables who are close to making in the Walk of Fame are former Brewers manager George Bamberger (61 percent of the vote) and pitcher Mike Caldwell (52 percent), and Braves infielder Johnny Logan (61 percent). You need to be on 75 percent of the ballots to gain election.
