The Milwaukee Brewers have released right-handed pitcher Nick Bucci, three months after removing him from the 40-man roster.

A once highly-touted prospect, Bucci, 23, has dealt with shoulder injuries throughout his minor league career. He only pitched 2/3 of an inning this season with the Brevard County Manatees before being shut down with shoulder problems once again.

The Canadian-native had his best season in 2010 for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, making 20 starts and posting a 3.51 ERA and was promoted to High-A the following season, but that ended up being his last healthy season.

According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Bucci is looking to return to school, and the Brewers were unsure where he fit in for the future.
