Craig Counsell has proved so far that he is not afraid to get creative with his lineup. Instead of keeping roles for each player he has shown willingness to go with the hot hand and make moves if necessary. Already he has moved Carlos Gomez out of the leadoff spot and slid Khris Davis into the two-hole.
Heading into tonight’s finale against the Chicago White Sox, new leadoff hitter Jean Segura has scratched from the lineup due to a sore pinky. With this injury, Counsell has made some wholesale changes to the lineup from top to bottom.

The injury has not only put the hot hitting Elian Herrera into the leadoff spot, but it has also allowed Scooter Gennett (who was originally out of the lineup) to get another start against left handed pitching. With the Brewers looking to win another series (their third of the season), here is the lineup that they will put out tonight against lefty,Jose Quintana.

With Aramis Ramirez expected to return Friday, it will be interesting to see how the future lineups will take shape. As the Brewers hope to continue their hot hitting ways, Jimmy Nelson will look to continue to build on his strong start to the season.
