Milwaukee Brewers Should Trade Adam Lind to Cardinals
The rumors have been out for a long time, but with the most recent rumblings via Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post Dispatch, the St. Louis Cardinals have interest in Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Adam Lind. While the trade would be in the division, the Brewers need to pull the trigger on the deal.

By adding Lind, the Cardinals who already have the best record in baseball would be made even stronger. Adding Lind to the mix would give them a considerably stronger option then their current first base option Mark Reynolds and also allow Cardinals’ top prospect Stephen Piscotty to continue to get everyday at bats in AAA instead of platooning at the major league level.
Making a deal of this caliber would certainly help out the Brewers who are not playing for this year, too. While Lind has an affordable option for next season and he has been an excellent addition to the everyday lineup this year, he is not seen as a bat that has a future as part of the rebuild in Milwaukee. If they were able to deal him to St. Louis, it is thought that they could get a bigger talent than the high upside Yhonathan Barrios that they acquired in the Aramis Ramirez trade.
The departure of Lind could also give a player like Jason Rogers, who is tearing it up in the minor leagues, a chance to prove himself at the major league level as an everyday player.
The Friday deadline is getting closer and with the interest reportedly high on Lind, the only way that I would expect to see Lind on the roster would be still on the roster would be if the nagging back injury continued to keep him out of the lineup. If healthy it would be a grave mistake for the Brewers to hold onto him, even with his very affordable 2016 option. With interest growing and the decision time nearing, the Brewers have to make a deal to move Lind, even if it is to the hated Cardinals.
