Yovani Gallardo Looks Sharp In Brewers 4-0 Win At Atlanta

Yovani Gallardo looked sharp yesterday in Atlanta as he gave up only two hits over eight scoreless innings to help the Brewers to a 4-0 win over Atlanta.  Gallardo has been touted by many as the guy who needs to step up and be the no. 1 starter for the Brewers and in my opinion that is yet to be seen. Gallardo is young and at times looks overpowering, but at other times he looks like he is lost on the mound. I still think he needs some more time and as the season goes a long he could very well be the Brewers go to guy down the stretch.

Mat Gamel drove in three runs for the Brewers as he took Bill Hall’s spot who has been hitting only .211. We need production and if Bill Hall cannot get the job done then we need to look in another direction. Gamel had a good game last night, but we will have to wait and see how well he plays the next few weeks. Gallardo’s performance was a godsend for the Brewers bullpen who had been called upon a lot in the Marlins series.  Today the Brewers send Jeff Suppan to the mound who has not really pitched that well lately to try and get the Brewers another win.
