The one thing you can say about Prince Fielder when he comes to the ballpark he is ready to play. No matter if he goes 0-4 or 4 for 4 he is a competitor. Yesterday Fielder launched two home runs and even played some defense to help power the Brewers to a 3-0 shutout of the Atlanta Braves. It was the second straight shutout for the Brewers as well.
Jeff Suppan pitched 5 and 1/3 innings and Todd Coffey, Mitch Stetter, and Trevor Hoffman finished up to complete the shutout. For Hoffman it was his 15th save in as many chances. In this series so far the pitching has been great and that is something that the Brewers need right now. Many Brewer fans want to see someone brought in such as an Roy Oswalt or a Jake Peavey to help the Brewers. Right now I do not know if that would be such a good move. I would wait until the All-Star Break and see where we stand before we make such a move.
Last year we traded away some good prospects to get C.C. Sabathia and it did not produce a championship so let’s have a wait and see attitude before we decide to trade away more top prospects.
