Casey McGehee Helps Brewers End Losing Skid
Mackail McGehee has cerebral palsy, but that did not stop him from throwing out the first pitch before the game. He also got to watch his dad Casey McGehee come off the bench to hit a pinch hit two run homer to help fuel a Brewers 7-5 victory over Washington and end their losing streak for the time being.
Manny Parra started the game and pitched 6.0 innings giving up five runs and nine hits. He did walk five batters which is not something you want to see, but also struck out seven as well. Trevor Hoffman came in to nail down his 23th save in the ninth inning for the Brewers. Parra kept the game close enough for the Brewers hitters and that is what we need more of.
The Brewers pounded out 11 hits with Mike Cameron going 3 for 3 and a host of players who at least got one hit. The Brewers have a good hitting ball club they just need the pitchers to keep them in the game. As the bad the Brewers have played so far this season they are still in contention with two full months to play. I’m not pressing the panic button just yet, but my finger is reaching closer to it.
