Braden Looper Shuts Down Dodgers And Win 4-1

Coming into the season the name Braden Looper was not a guy that to be honest I  knew much about or heard a lot from. Lately, though in the second half of the season he has come on strong.  Last night he kept the Dodgers hitters off their stride and help the Brewers get a 4-1 win and a series win 2-1.

Looper pitched 6.2 innings giving up just four hits and one earned run. The bullpen came in and also shut the door and Trevor Hoffman picked up his 25th save. Looper since the All-Star break has been one of the better Brewers pitchers and he really seems to step up when the Brewers need a quality start. With Suppan and Bush out right now Looper has really filled the void.

Prince Fielder last night decided to stay in his own dugout after going to visit the Dodgers clubhouse the other night. Fielder was 0-5 last night, but did drive in a run. Felipe Lopez and Ryan Braun both had excellent games to power the Brewers. Lopez has really been a great pickup for the Brewers and he is a guy the Brewers need to hold  on  long term.  The Brewers now travel to Houston for a weekend series and let’s hope they continue to get some wins on this road trip. Beating the Dodgers 2 out of 3 was huge.
