Zero Runs Add Up To Another Brewers Loss
If I was Yovani Gallardo I would have a talk with the Milwaukee Brewers hitters as they have not been very kind to Gallardo. In four of Gallardo starts the Brewers have failed to score any runs at all and today was no different, as the Brewers lost 2-0 to Houston.
Yovani Gallardo pitched 7.0 innings giving up just two earned runs, but it was enough to tag him with the loss. Two of his losses this season were two 1-0 decisions. Gallardo has pitched well at times, but the offense has provided him no help at all. When the pitchers do pitch well the offense let’s them down and vice versa. I am starting to think this could be a lost season for the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Brewers traded for David Weathers from Cincinnati and Jeff Suppan and Dave Bush could be back soon. The biggest problem is unless you combine good pitching with timely hitting it’s not going to matter who you trade for. Rumor has it the Brewers are weighing other options even John Smoltz. Might as well add him the way the Brewers are going cannot be any worse then some of the pitching I have seen so far this season.
