Brewers Bullpen Give Another One Away
Some of the teams the Milwaukee Brewers play this year must be looking at the calendar as they are being given early Christmas presents by the Brewers bullpen. With a chance to extend the Brewers winning streak to four games the bullpen did not get the job done. The result was a 8-5 loss to the Houston Astros and ended the Brewers modest three game winning streak.
Braden Looper started the game and did not pitch great by any stretch of the imagination. He went 6.0 innings giving up four earned runs. Despite that the Brewers were still leading going into the eighth inning 5-4. David Weathers was brought in the eighth inning and gave up three earned runs and took the loss for the Brewers. Another blown lead for the bullpen. The Brewers have to be close to the top in teams who have blown leads and went on to lose the game. Jeff Suppan recently had a rehab start and got shelled. Dave Bush will have one soon and hopefully it will go better then Suppan’s did.
The Brewers hit the ball well yesterday getting 10 hits with Ryan Braun and Felipe Lopez each getting three hits. Lopez right now is hitting the ball well and Braun along with Fielder went deep yesterday. prince Fielder became the first Milwaukee Brewer to hit 30 home runs and gets 100 RBI’s for three consecutive years. Fielder has really come into his own this year and he is only going to better as time goes on. I hope the Brewer organization does not piss him off and he stays long term with the team.
