Brewers Do Nothing As Pirates Get Series Sweep
For the longest time the Milwaukee Brewers seemed to own the Pittsburgh Pirates, but that is not the case anymore. The Pirates showed what they are capable of with a 3-1 win and a three game series over the Brewers in Pittsburgh. People can say what they want about the Pirates, but at least they came out to play not stand around like the Brewers have for the last month of the season.
Yovani Gallardo is probably at the point he is going to have to pitch a shutout and go nine innings anymore if he wants to get a win. Last night Gallardo pitched well, but made a few mistakes. He allowed just four hits, but three earned runs and that was his downfall. Of course it did not help him that the Brewers offense was non-existent again in one of his starts. Now the Brewers take on the Washington Nationals and I look for nothing different from the Brewers. They have not played well and that theme should continue.
In other news on Wednesday the Brewers traded Bill hall to the Mariners for a minor leaguer. The Brewers will save a few dollars, but really not a lot, but they had to do something before Friday or they would be forced to give Hall almost 11 million dollars.
