Fielder, McGehee Help Brewers End Losing Streak
Prince Fielder and Casey McGehee went deep and Braden Looper pitched well as the Milwaukee Brewers ended their losing streak with a 7-3 win over Washington. The Brewers spoiled the party the Nationals for recently signed their no.1 draft pick Stephen Strasburg.
Braden Looper who lately has struggled getting people out and giving up the home run ball actually pitched very well last night. I know it was against the Washington Nationals, but the Brewers will take wins any way they can get them these days. Looper pitched 6.0 innings and only gave up two earned runs and four hits to grab the win. The bullpen finished the job up and did not blow it which is a encouraging sign we hope.
Prince Fielder continued to hit the ball well and Casey McGehee who has been quiet lately did go deep as well. The Brewers need other players beside Fielder and Braun to step up. You cannot expect those two players to do everything and continue to win ball games. The Brewers did manage 12 hits and they did spread it around, but we must do that every night and be much more consistent if we want to win on a more consistent basis.
