Hot Off The Presses — Here comes Greinke

Disclaimer:  Nothing is confirmed, this is all speculation.

Several Milwaukee newspapers are reporting this morning, that the Brewers have struck a preliminary deal to bring Zack Greinke  to the Brewers.  The players involved in the trade are rumored to be Alcides Escobar, Lorenzo Cain, Jeremy Jeffress, and in one report Jake Odorizzi.  In a seperate report the deal would also includeYuniesky Betancourt coming to the Brewers to fill our vacancy at shortstop.

This deal could be announced as early as Monday, pending a physical.  Both reports out at this time have different pieces to the trade.

Let’s hope that it is not report #2.  While I am overly excited about acquiring Greinke, I would hate to lose Odorizzi right now.  Again I would like to stress that at this point these are nothing more than rumors…….very exciting rumors.  If the deal were to be completed it would probably happen in the next 24 hours.  Check back for more details as they come.  I will be on this deal like a dog on a three legged cat!!!  Go Brewers!!
