Cubs come to town…TONIGHT!!!!!!

Every time we play the Cubs I experience a strange emotion.  Part of me wants us to tear them apart, but another part of me just wants the Cubs to win so at least they have something to hang their hats on.  The truth of the matter is, there is not a Cubs fan alive who has seen  them win the World Series and that has got to suck.  A very large chunk of my family belongs to the Baby Bear fan club and so it is really hard for me to “hate” the Cubs, but man is it fun to watch them suffer.  This year has been nothing short of awe inspiring.

Tonight the Crew will send Chris Narveson up against Ryan Dempster.  Normally I would throw my hands up in the air and just eat this one as an L.  While Dempster absolutely OWNS the Brewers (career 15-3 with a 2.50 ERA), Narveson has quietly pitched one hell of a season so far.  The problem is run support and the Crew never seems to have a problem at Miller Park.  Narveson has never lost to the Cubs either, he is 5-0 in his career against the Cubs.  This will be a terrific matchup and hopefully we can get back on the winning (home) track.

Tomorrow Zack Greinke will be pitching and looking for his first actual win since…well, it’s been long enough that I do not actually remember.  Maybe June-ish.  As of late he has looked like the Greinke of every other season, accept his CY Young season of 2009.  Greinke has no velocity on his pitches right now and no one seems to be able to figure out why.  As a result of that, almost every hit he allows is a home run.  Fortunately for him, he is up against Carlos “Bat s— crazy” Zambrano, so that should take some pressure off.

If you did not check out my article from yesterday, let me just say that this Brewers team is heartless.  This past road trip made it abundantly clear that no one on this roster trusts any one else on the club.  It has become very clear to me that there are some inner clubhouse issues at play here.  There is absolutely no excuse for a team with this much talent to be playing such mediocre baseball.  The homestand starting in, t-minus, 2 hours is very importnat for the Brewers and I just can not bear (no pun intended) the thought of them pissing it away.  But, they certainly could.

P.S- we have added our newest writer.  Her name is Lynda and her first article went up yesterday.  Be sure and check it out.  It’s about our pal Mat Gamel.  Welcome aboard Lynda.

Go Brewers!!
