The Milwaukee Brewers win the 2011 NL Central Division Title

For the first time since 1982, the Milwaukee Brewers possess a division crown.  It could not have come in a more dramatic fashion.  Ryan Braun launches a monster 3-run homer to the center field scoreboard in the bottom of the 8th inning, to give the Crew a 4-1 lead.  Gallardo was amazing, Fielder socked another bomb, K-Rod looked like he loved pitching that 8th inning, and Braun is going to be the NL MVP on a count of that home run to essentially clinch the division.

In 1982, the Brewers won the AL East.  They played in a division with the Yankees.  Since moving to the NL Central, this team has been a floor mat mostly.  Those days are over friends.  I can not wait to see that pennant up in Miller Park.

However, as much as it pains me to say this…Thank you Chicago Cubs and especially Alfonso Soriano, for defeating Tony LaRussa and his satanic birds.  As of this moment, I love you.  Ryan Dempster threw an amazing game and I thank him for it.  This will hopefully be the last time we speak of this.  Accept my compliment and let’s move on.

To all of you who were there tonight and were fortunate enough to witness the champs in all their glory, I envy you.  What an amazing moment to experience and may you share your story with your children.  So that they then pass it on to their children…and their childrens children.  Even from 2,400 miles away, I could feel the mojo in Miller Park and I longed to be there with you.  I would love to hear from some of you if you were there.  Please, tell me what it was like, how did it smell, was there an adequate amount of vendors, did the guy next to you spill his beer on you?  Anything.  This is a moment that I want to put in a bathtub and add bubbles.

Well, everyone stop reading and go celebrate a little bit.  Nothing serious though.  I don’t want any one over turning cars and breaking into liquor stores.  Maybe have a cigar or make yourself a little mixed drink.  Me, I am going to do both…with my dog Walter, Milwuakee Brewers Super-Fan.

This is just the beginning my friends.  We are going to have more moments like this over the coming weeks, I can feel it.  Good night Brew Crew Nation.
