Upon waking up this morning, I’m sure the first thought in each of your minds that, on this date last year, the Brewers roughed up

Jaime Garcia and the Cardinals for a 9-6 victory in the first game of the 2011 NLCS.

Actually, scratch that; guys never actually remember any important anniversaries, right?

Just before the Ryan Braun bobblehead on your desk yells at you–a little less threatening than the wife or girlfriend, yes, but not how you want to spend your night–there’s time to run out to the store and buy celebratory balloons to celebrate the Brewers first victory in a LCS game since 1982.

This is not average one year victory anniversary. Milwaukee came back from a 4-1 St. Louis lead in the fifth with big hits from Braun, Prince Fielder, and, yes, the one and only Yuniesky Betancourt. You can’t make this stuff up. Francisco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless eighth (#ThingsWeWillAcceptForKRod) and John Axford hung on for the easy save. (#JohnAxfordSaves).

Of course, the Brewers would go on to sweep the Cardinals and win the World Series in a dramatic seven game series over Texas, featuring a walk-off home run in Game Six off the bat of Corey Hart two innings after he hit a two-out game-tying triple!
