Today the Brewers and Cardinals square off in the third and final game of this series this afternoon at Miller Park. The Brewers will try to avoid being swept by the red birds and having their 9-game winning streak snapped on Monday. Today, the Brewers will have to put some offense together without right fielder, Ryan Braun, as he is being given the day off to rest his thumb, according to Brewers beat writer and MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy.
Ryan Braun had some really bad at-bats last night, so it was somewhat expected he’d get the day off today. Tom Haudricourt tweeted out that the thumb isn’t going to get any better and that surgery will eventually have to take place. Jonathan Lucroy will bat in the three-hole in place of Braun today. Here’s how the lineups look for today’s finale.
