Aramis Ramirez to Return Wednesday

Barring a setback, Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez will be activated off of the disabled list on Wednesday. Ramirez has been on the DL since May 13 with a strained left hamstring.

Ramirez played in a rehab game for Class A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Monday and went 2-for-4. According to manager Ron Roenicke, Ramirez could be the designated hitter when the Brewers travel to Minnesota on Wednesday and Thursday.

“We’ll talk about that,” manager Ron Roenicke said via Adam McCalvy. “We’re thinking DH, but we’ll talk about it when he gets back. We’ll see where he is. That’s what we’d like to do, DH him the first game and then we’ll see.”

Roenicke has also discussed moving Ramirez down from the cleanup spot because the offense has been doing so well as of late.

Ramirez is hitting .252 with five home runs and 21 RBI in 34 games this season.
