It hasn’t come across the transaction wire yet, but Andrew Gruman of Fox Sports Wisconsin is reporting that Mike Fiers has been optioned back to AAA Nashville after Tuesday’s marathon loss to the Washington Nationals.

Alfredo Figaro will be recalled to replace in him the bullpen, as everybody other than Wei-Chung Wang pitched for the Brewers on Tuesday.

According to Gruman, the plan is that Fiers will go down to Nashville and resume his duties in their starting rotation on Monday.

Fiers made four appearances for the Brewers this season after being called up at the beginning of the month. Prior to Tuesday he had thrown three scoreless innings and allowed just two hits.

Tuesday he threw four innings of relief for the Crew, but gave up the game-winning home run to Ryan Zimmerman.

Figardo only has one appearance for the Brewers this season, back in April. He threw three innings and allowed a run on two hits.

He’s thrown 37 2/3 innings for the Sounds this year and has a 5.02 ERA and 4.52 FIP. He’ll throw mostly mop-up innings for the Crew.
