Calling the Milwaukee Brewers season a nightmare so far, is a giant understatement. Not only are they off to a franchise worse start and scoring runs seems like an unattainable goal, but they have started to lose players to injury as well.
First they lost Carlos Gomez to a hamstring injury. Earlier today Scooter Gennett was taken out of the lineup after it was reported that he injured his hand in the shower.
How bad is it going for #Brewers. 2B Scooter Gennett cut his hand in shower after game Sunday, got stitches and will miss some time.

Things got even worse as the game started. In the sixth inning of tonight’s game, Zack Cosart fouled a ball off the left foot of Jonathan Lucroy. Later in the at bat Cosart homered and an inning later Lucroy left with injury.
Lucroy is out of the game after taking a foul tip in the last inning. Maldonoado catching.

If he is to miss any significant time, the team is in even rougher shape. While Martin Maldonado can easily replace Lucroy behind the plate, there is no replacing his bat in the lineup or his presence in the clubhouse. With the team in a tailspin that looks like it won’t end they need a positive medical report tonight.
UPDATED: With the medical report now out things are as bad as can be as the diagnosis is fractured toe and Lucroy is heading to the disabled list.
Lucroy going on the DL with a broken left toe. Centeno coming up.
