Milwaukee Brewers Minors: Tough day on the farm

It was not a good day for the Milwaukee Brewers affiliates as they dropped all three games and trail in a suspended game. Let’s dig in to what happened on May 3rd…

Triple-A

San Antonio Missions (15-12) vs. Round Rock Express (16-10)

The Milwaukee Brewers Triple-A affiliate was rained out tonight in the middle of the 4th inning with the Missions trailing 6-1. The game will be picked up tomorrow and we will have all the stats for you.

Double-A

Biloxi Shuckers (14-14) vs. Pensacola Blue Wahoo (18-10)

Twelve hits and eight runs wasn’t enough for the Shuckers as the fall to the Blue Wahoos 10-8 on Friday night.

Hitting wasn’t a problem tonight as Trent Grisham has three hits, including a home run, two RBIs and two runs. Patrick Leonard has two hits with a two run home run, Cooper Hummel, Michael O’Neill, and Luis Aviles Jr. all had two hits. In fact with five walks all but one Shucker got on base in the game.

Pitching was another story…

Braden Webb went just 2/3 of an inning, giving up five runs, including a grand slam in the bottom of the first. Nattino Diplan gave up four runs, while the rest of the bullpen was amazing. Justin Topa, Tyler Spurlin, Luke Barker, and Aaron Kurcz combined to throw 4 2/3 innings with just seven hits, one run and 10 strike outs.

Class A Advanced

Carolina Mudcats (17-12) vs. Wilmington Blue Rocks (17-12)

The Mudcats got up early, fell behind and just couldn’t get back up, losing 4-3.

Mario Feliciano has two hits, while Eddie Silva and Tristen Lutz each had a hit and an RBI.

Drew Rasmussen continues to gain strength after recovering from Tommy John surgery. He went 2 2/3 innings giving up just one hit and struck out three. Matt Smith picked up the loss giving up all four runs in three innings.

Class A

Wisconsin TimberRattlers (12-13) vs. Great Lake Loons (15-12)

Another tough one for the TimberRattlers as the start the series the Loons off dropping game one 4-2.

Five hit total for Wisconsin, and only one extra bases hit, a double by David Fry.

Justin Bullock picked up the loss, giving up three runs before being pulled in the fourth. He gave up just one hit but six walks.
