Milwaukee Brewers Minors: Electric pitching leads to 4-0 day

A clean sweep day for the Milwaukee Brewers affiliates thanks to some electric pitching down on the farm.

Triple-A San Antonio

San Antonio Missions (18-14) vs. New Orleans Baby Cakes (17-15)

It was a barn burner of a game tonight in San Antonio, as the Missions walked off the Baby Cakes in the bottom of the 10th, 1-0.

Jake Hager was the offensive star tonight, hitting a walk off single in extras with no outs to score Cory Spangenberg.

While the offense only had six hits, the pitching was great. Aaron Wilkerson got the team started right, going five innings of shutout baseball in his rehab outing as he recovers from a bruised left foot. Jon Olczak, Tristen Archer, Jacob Barnes, and Alex Wilson pitched another five innings of shutout baseball to get the win.

The Missions continue the series against the Baby Cakes Wednesday.

Double-A Biloxi

Biloxi Shuckers (16-16) vs. Montgomery Biscuits (19-12)

Another six run game got the Shuckers the win, cruising to victory 6-2.

Story of the night was Trey Supak, who went seven innings, giving up just the two runs on eight hits. Luke Barker came in to get the six out save.

Luis Aviles Jr. led the offense today, going 2-4 with a three-run home run, his first home run of the season.

Trent Grisham and Dillon Thomas each had two hits, including a double for Grisham and triple for Thomas.

Thomas collected two RBIs and a run in the game as well. Game three of the series is Wednesday.

Class-A Advanced Carolina

Carolina Mudcats (18-13) vs. Fayetteville Woodpeckers (15-17)

Devin Hairston and Eddie Silva combined for four hits and four RBIs in the 5-1 victory against Fayetteville.

Dylan File was electric in his six innings of work, striking out six while giving up one run on four hits.

2017 Milwaukee Brewers Comp. Balance A selection Tristen Lutz provided an outfield assist in this game, gunning out Jacob Meyers at home plate from center field.

Class-A Wisconsin

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (13-17) vs. Fort Wayne TinCaps (13-18)

The Timber Rattlers avenged their game one loss on Tuesday with a 3-2 victory over the TinCaps.

Seven hitters reached base, including doubles for Yeison Coca, Brent Diaz and Korry Howell.

Adam Hill was great on the mound, going six innings, striking out seven, and allowing just three hits. He is back to a 3-2 record with a 3.62 ERA.

This was a solid day for the Milwaukee Brewers minor league affiliates, as each team was able to pull out a victory. Some of the Crew’s top prospects were able to continue their productive seasons so far.
