Every year, Brewers President of Baseball Ops David Stearns writes a letter to Santa Claus detailing what he wants for Christmas.

We have been able to obtain an exclusive copy of the letter Stearns wrote this year to Kris Kringle, and he’s asking for some help for his Brewers.

Dear Santa Claus,

Hey Santa! It’s your friend David Stearns again. I think I was very good this year as my Milwaukee Brewers made it to the postseason for the third straight season, the first time that’s ever happened in franchise history! Also, I gave my good friend Matt Arnold a promotion to keep him around.

However, my free agent gifts for the team last year didn’t quite work out and it made some people very mad. Maybe I wasn’t my best this year, but I planned for a 162 game season with fans and then all of a sudden we only could play 60 games and with no fans! It made me sad because I didn’t have 40,000 friends showing up each night all summer. I think it also made my players sad, too.

I hope you’ve been staying safe and socially distanced up in the North Pole, Santa. This year, for Christmas, there are a couple of things I want.

The first thing I want is for this pandemic to end as quickly as possible so we’re able to play as many games as possible in front of as many fans as possible next year. This gift wouldn’t just be for me, Santa, but for all of us.

I understand if that’s too big of an ask to put in your sleigh and have your reindeer pull (also please give extra treats to Dasher, he’s my favorite). So I do have some other things on my list.

I very much need some corner infield action figures this year. I would really like some of the super nice ones that can hit for average AND hit for power! Although I know things are tight this year for you too Santa, so if you only have cheaper ones that can only do one of those things, I need the power hitting corner infield action figure more than the hit for average action figure.

Another thing I want for Christmas this year is the Designated Hitter. I got to play with the DH a little bit this year, but the playground bully, Rob Manfred (he deserves a lump of coal!), is trying to keep everyone else from using it. That Rob Manfred certainly belongs on the naughty list in my opinion.

If I could have the DH back, I could also get back Ryan Braun, who has been one of my favorite players ever. I know a lot of people would be really happy if he came back.

I really liked the presents you got me last year, Santa! The Christian Yelich extension was incredible and an unexpected surprise! Thank you for returning a new and improved Corbin Burnes to help out atop the starting rotation. Devin Williams was a definite surprise, but a welcome one and he’s now one my of my favorites.

I hope you have me on the nice list this year!

Thank you and Merry Christmas, Santa!

Your friend,

David Stearns

P.S. If you could help my friend Christian Yelich find his dominance at the plate again this year, that would be really, really awesome.
