The day no Brewers fan has ever wanted to come has sadly arrived. Bob Uecker, the legendary and beloved radio broadcaster, has passed away at the age of 90.

Uecker began his playing career with the Milwaukee Braves back in 1962. He played in parts of six seasons with the Braves, Cardinals, and Phillies. His playing career ended in 1967, which led to Uecker joining the Brewers' radio broadcast in 1971.

Uecker has been the voice of Milwaukee Brewers baseball ever since, becoming synonymous with the city and team.

In 2003, Uecker was given the Ford C. Frick award for excellence in baseball broadcasting and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. His Hall of Fame induction speech still stands as one of the greatest.

Uecker's home run catchphrase of "Get up, get up, get outta here, gone!" is in bright lights above Bernie's Chalet in left field. It's one of the most recognizable home run calls in the history of the sport.

Uecker gained national attention for his TV and movie appearances, notably including his role as Harry Doyle in the Major League movie franchise. He was also known as a recurring guest on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and played George Owens on the '80s sitcom Mr. Belvedere.

Uecker also was on Wrestlemania, and the image of Andre The Giant choking out Uecker was an enduring image of the 1980s. That helped earned Uecker induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010.

In 2014, Uecker began to cut back on his workload, limiting the number of road trips he followed the Brewers on throughout the season. In the 2024 season, Uecker rarely traveled with the team.

It's impossible to tell the story of the Milwaukee Brewers without Bob Uecker, through their ups or downs, because for the franchise's near entire existence, Uecker was the storyteller. And the story was always told with humor and wit. Uecker was known for his self-deprecating style.

At the end of the 2024 season when the Brewers were eliminated, Christian Yelich was visibly in tears talking about Uecker and what he's meant to him and this team, saying, "By far the hardest part of the night was talking to Bob... all that stuff, he still kinda laughs through it."

Every generation of Brewers fans have grown up and grown old listening to Bob Uecker as the voice track to summer. One of the ad reads Uecker did during Brewers games, as any fan knows, is, "Usinger's and baseball, it's just not summer without 'em."

Bob Uecker, it just won't be summer without you.
