The Milwaukee Brewers are headed to Wrigley Field with a 2-0 lead in the NLDS. After two statement wins against their arch-rivals, the Chicago Cubs, the Brewers are looking to make it a clean sweep with a victory in tomorrow afternoon's Game 3 matchup.
Thanks to savvy pitching decisions from Milwaukee's manager, Pat Murphy, in Game 2, the Brewers have the luxury of rolling out their No. 2 starter, Quinn Priester, for tomorrow afternoon's contest. Priester, who was heavily rumored to be the bulk pitcher in last night's game after Aaron Ashby covered the opening duties, led the Brewers to 19 straight victories during the regular season. From May 30 to September 18, the Brew Crew didn't lose a single game that Priester started. For an early-season trade acquisition, that's about as good of an outcome as you can ask for.
Opposing Priester in Game 3 will be Chicago Cubs' right-hander Jameson Taillon. Despite being the third option in Craig Counsell's starting rotation, Taillon might be the Cubs' best starter at the moment. In his final six starts of the regular season, Taillon posted a 1.57 ERA with a 0.90 WHIP and collected four wins. He continued his impressive recent play with a scoreless four-inning outing in the final game of the Cubs' Wild Card Series against the San Diego Padres.
It's bound to be an exciting matchup, and the prospect of ending the Cubs' 2025 season at their home ballpark should have Brewers fans more than eager to tune in. Just recently, the Brewers announced an exciting way for fans to watch tomorrow's game, releasing details for a watch party that will take place at Davidson Park in Milwaukee.
