The Milwaukee Brewers pulled off a pair of improbable wins during their weekend series against the New York Mets. Friday night featured a dramatic game-ending throw at the plate, while Sunday’s finale was capped by a walk-off home run after the Brewers rallied back from a five-run deficit, sealing yet another thrilling comeback and keeping the win streak alive. They followed up the weekend with a stress-free 7-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, giving them their second 10-game winning streak of the last six weeks. It's fair to say that so far the 2025 season has been quite the journey, but is starting to have a magical feel.
Before the season began, the Brewers community and baseball world as a whole mourned the loss of the legendary Bob Uecker. He was a voice and presence who had been the heart and soul of the franchise for generations, and his passing left a void that couldn't be filled.
Milwaukee then stumbled out of the gate, getting blown out in New York by the Yankees and shut out multiple times over the first few months of the season. The team struggled to find its rhythm or identity until May 18, when Jackson Chourio’s game-saving home run robbery of Royce Lewis against Minnesota sparked a turning point. From that moment on, the Brewers began to find their stride and have had an MLB best record of 53-19 since.
"Win It for Ueck": Milwaukee Brewers broadcaster embraces the Uecker Magic
Since then, it’s become increasingly clear that this Brewers squad is playing with something deeper, a sense of purpose, pride, and maybe even a mission: to win it for Ueck. And with every comeback win, walk-off moment, and improbable streak, that mission feels more real.
Until recently, that unspoken mission was not talked about much. Then, after Sunday night's walk-off win, long-time Brewers' play-by-play broadcaster Brian Anderson made a comment on the Fan Duel Sports Network broadcast about "Uecker Magic" fueling the team’s success. Since then, it seems the green light has been given for fans to acknowledge that the team is trying to "Win it for Uecker" this year.
Have a feeling this won’t be the only “Uecker Magic” sign we will see throughout the rest of the season. pic.twitter.com/wcMoPJw8SY

Brian Anderson referencing “Uecker Magic” on air gave voice to what many had already sensed. Now, with the team surging and the city rallying behind them, it’s clear: the Brewers aren’t just chasing wins, they’re chasing something bigger. The message is out, and the mission is on, they’re trying to win a World Series for Uecker.
