Throughout the history of the Milwaukee Brewers, just four players have won a MVP award. Rollie Fingers was the franchise's first recipient in 1981, Robin Yount won it in 1982, Yount again in 1989, Ryan Braun in 2011, and most recently Christian Yelich in 2018.
In recent memory, William Contreras has been the closest Brewers to winning MVP as he finished fifth in voting a season ago. Willy Adames, Corbin Burnes, and Devin Williams have all been mentioned in the past as well, but have finished either 10th or beyond. As many strong seasons seasons we have seen in Milwaukee in recent years, it has been quite a while since a Brewers player was realistically in the hunt.
As we approach the start of the 2025 season, youngster Jackson Chourio is likely the guy that stands the greatest chance of someday winning a MVP. At age 21, he's already secured a long-term contract, and proved his worth in the big leagues as during his rookie season he became the youngest player to record a 20-20 season.

Milwaukee Brewers rising star Jackson Chourio listed as a dark horse 2025 MVP candidate
Jason Catania recently proposed that Chourio could be a darkhorse candidate for MVP this year. He pointed out that from June 1 on he slashed .303/.358/.525 with 16 home runs and 15 stolen bases. Catania also mentioned that with Willy Adames gone, Chourio could easily slide in as an offensive leader alongside William Contreras.
Furthermore supporting Catania's case for Chourio being a darkhorse MVP candidate is the fact that he is an elite defender. The outfielder has great speed, range, an above average throwing arm, and he finished with 12 defensive runs saved a season ago while playing right and left field. With Chourio's defense providing that much value, it creates an even higher ceiling for his overall production and thereby increasing the odds that Chourio could force his way into the MVP conversation over the course of a long season.
It will be interesting to see if Chourio can indeed put himself in MVP discussion in 2025 or not. If he can and he wins it, he would join Kris Bryant as the latest young player to win MVP during their second full season. Former younger MVP winners, like Cody Bellinger, Shohei Ohtani, and Ronald Acuna Jr, won it in either their third through fifth seasons.
