Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski has a new glove that you have to see to believe

A trading card encased in the webbing? You've never seen anything like this.

Watching Jacob Misiorowski pitch is already fun enough as it is. The Milwaukee Brewers' 2026 Opening Day starter generates a ton of strikeouts with his electric arsenal of pitches that includes frequent 100+ mph fastballs, a mid-90s slider, a looping curveball, and a seldom-used, 90+ mph changeup.

The result is must-watch baseball every time the 24-year-old Misiorowski takes the mound. Despite having just four starts to his name this year, Miz ranks sixth in all of baseball in strikeouts while most of his competition has already made their fifth appearances of the young 2026 season. Should Miz post eight strikeouts in his outing this afternoon against the Miami Marlins -- a number that is by no means out of the realm of possibilities for the young flamethrower -- he will enter the latter third of April with the MLB lead in strikeouts.

As if gaudy strikeout numbers and 100+ mph fastballs from the 6'7" Misiorowski aren't enough for fans to tune in to watch the Brewers' ace pitch every fifth day, Miz is giving fans of an entirely different genre a reason to support his baseball career. Since his debut last June, Miz has made apparent his love for the Pokémon franchise, often opening packs of Pokémon cards in the clubhouse or discussing the franchise with fans.

However, Miz has taken his fandom to an entirely new level, combining his profession as an MLB pitcher and his love for Pokémon with a new glove that Brewers fans have to see to believe.

Jacob Misiorowski receives one-of-a-kind Pokémon-inspired glove

The glove-maker 44pro is known not only for making some of the best gloves in the game of baseball, but also for pushing the boundaries and making custom one-of-a-kind gloves for players. Their latest achievement is a Pokémon-inspired glove for Misiorowski that includes a trading card encased in the webbing of the mitt.

44pro made a similar glove for Los Angeles Dodgers' relief pitcher Will Klein with the main difference being that Klein's glove is blue and features a "Tyranitar" Pokémon card, and Misiorowski's is purple and features the popular character "Gengar."

It remains to be seen whether or not MLB will allow Misiorowski and Klein to actually wear these gloves while pitching, but it's not as if they would be the first ballplayers to sport brightly colored mitts in today's game. It's hard to believe that there's a line in the rulebook stating that a player cannot wear a glove with a trading card encased in the webbing.

Whether or not Misiorowski does sport his purple "Gengar Glove" on the bump, it's clear Pokémon fans have a reason to root for the Brewers' flamethrower. However, card collectors might be a little concerned that a card encased in a baseball glove might risk a couple of ticks on the PSA grading scale.
