Brewers legends to appear at watch party, playoff rally ahead of 2026 postseason run

The Milwaukee Brewers are returning to the postseason for the eighth time in the last nine seasons. It's a feat that once felt impossible for the small-market Brewers, who once went 25 seasons -- from 1983 to 2007 -- without appearing in the postseason a single time. However, since the 2018 season, when the Brewers advanced to the National League Championship Series thanks to the efforts of NL MVP Christian Yelich, who joined the Brew Crew via trade during the offseason, Milwaukee has been a perennial contender in the NL.

Over the last two seasons, during which manager Pat Murphy, who took over at the beginning of the 2024 season, has settled into his role as the leader of the Brewers, Milwaukee has been among the best teams in Major League Baseball during the regular season. In 2025, the Brewers finished the 162-game marathon with the best record in all of baseball, and with just eight games remaining in the 2026 season, Milwaukee once again tops all of MLB with a 96-58 record. The Brewers are just one win away from tying a franchise record, which they set during the 2025 campaign, for the most wins in a single season.

Naturally, given their unprecedented winning percentage, the Brewers have already qualified for the 2026 postseason, and have locked up their fourth consecutive NL Central division title. While the Brewers have a Magic Number of just 3 to secure a first-round bye in this year's postseason and a their spot in the NLDS, by virtue of their NL Central division title, Milwaukee has already ensured that they will host postseason games once again in 2026.

It will be the fourth straight year, and fifth time in the last six years that postseason games will be played at American Family Field. The Brewers' fanbase is, understandably, energized by the prospect of postseason baseball returning to the Cream City, and, as a result, the team has elected to throw a watch party/postseason rally to grow even more hype for next month's playoff match-ups.

Brewers to throw "Rally for October" watch party as postseason hype grows

The Brewers shrunk their Magic Number to punch their ticket to straight the NLDS (skipping over the Wild Card round) down to 3 with a win in last night's series opener against the Baltimore Orioles. As a result, any combination of three Brewers wins or Atlanta Braves losses will give the Brewers a first-round bye and send them directly to the NLDS. Therefore, it's not yet determined when exactly the Brewers' much-anticipated 2026 postseason run will begin.

However, regardless of the uncertainty of when their playoff journey will begin, the Brewers are growing hype amongst their fanbase with October baseball drawing nearer. On September 22, when the Brewers match up with the Philadelphia Phillies, who currently hold the No. 2 Wild Card spot in the National League, the team is throwing a "Rally for October" event at the UW Credit Union plaza outside of American Family Field.

The event will include appearances from Brewers legends Corey Hart and Geoff Jenkins as well as top prospects Brady and Trey Ebel, Kyle Jones, and Sawyer Strosnider. Broadcaster and former Brewer Vinny Rottino will host a Q and A with the former and future Brewers beginning at 4:30 p.m. CT. Brewers to host rally, watch party Tuesday

It's an exciting time for Brewers fans. The team looks once again poised to start their postseason run with an appearance in the NLDS, of which the first two games will take place at American Family Field. With ace Jacob Misiorowski, the front-runner for the NL Cy Young award this year, leading the charge, the Brewers are hoping for a different postseason outcome from a season ago.
