On Tuesday, the Milwaukee Brewers added minor league pitcher Logan Henderson to their 40-man roster, just in time to save him from possibly being shipped to another club via the Rule 5 Draft. Henderson was drafted in the 4th round of the 2021 draft and he's breezed through the Milwaukee farm system in only three seasons.

In 2024, the Houston, TX product was a member of four different minor league clubs, as he advanced from Low-A Carolina to Triple-A Nashville. Henderson tossed 81.1 innings, most of which were with the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers. As a contributor to the Southern League, he recorded a 0.88 WHIP, which was second best on the Shuckers' roster.

Henderson completed the 2024 campaign with Triple-A Nashville, producing a 1-3 record in six starts. The young hurler occupies three pitches in Henderson's arsenal. He has a 50 grade fastball and a 40 grade slider, but his changeup is his most lethal pitch.

Brewers adding Logan Henderson to 40-man roster could be the start of a bright future

Sitting in the low 80's, this devastating pitch is about 10 miles per hour slower than his fastball. When the off-speed pitch is thrown at its pinnacle, it leaves opposing hitters baffled as we can see below.

Nonetheless, we have to analyze how Henderson will fit into this deep Milwaukee pitching staff. The 93-win club carries some very talented pitchers such as Freddy Peralta, Brandon Woodruff, and 26-year old flamethrower, Tobias Myers.

Despite his obvious skill set, Henderson will certainly have his work cut out for him if he wants to ultimately make this club out of Spring Training.

Alongside Henderson, the Brewers also added Chad Patrick to the roster. Patrick accumulated an impressive 14 wins in his 26 Triple-A starts last year. As a 26-year old, Patrick has a little more experience in the game and it showed in his dominant season with the Nashville Sounds.

Coming off of an NL Central division title, the Brewers front office is clearly looking to spark some healthy competition amongst their uber-talented pitching depth. Therefore, we are expecting to see some youth shine in March, especially the blossoming star-in-the-making like Henderson.
