For better or worse, the Milwaukee Brewers' offseason is pretty much over and done with. The Brewers lost Willy Adames and Devin Williams and while there will definitely be some new faces on the big league roster like Nestor Cortes and probably Caleb Durbin, there remains a lot of uncertainty on the fringes of their roster. Fortunately, spring training should provide some clarity.

With the Brewers reporting to spring training this week, this is also the time when the team announces their spring training roster which includes no shortage of top prospect names as well as a few new faces that could make some noise.

Brewers 2025 spring training roster has been reveal as roster competition is set to get under way

There wasn't ever going to be a lot of drama with Milwaukee's spring training roster. Most of the usual suspects were locks to be on it and that proved correct. In the infield, it feels like Durbin is the favorite to win an Opening Day roster spot due to his 40-man status over a young gun like Cooper Pratt, although that isn't a sure thing. Jake Bauers is back, but his play last year suggests that he is going to need to do a lot of convincing to make it to the bigs out of camp.

The outfield looks similar crowded with guys that are nearly guaranteed a roster spot in Jackson Chourio (mortal lock), Christian Yelich (ditto if healthy), Sal Frelick, and Garrett Mitchell. Blake Perkins makes more sense as a fourth outfielder type given that he can't hit, but the Brewers love his defense so he is going to get a long look as a regular.

The pitching side is where things get interesting as we have a pair of power arms in Aaron Ashby and Jacob Misiorowski who are almost certainly in Milwaukee's 2025 plans to some degree, but it is unclear as to whether or not that will be in the rotation or the bullpen. Abner Uribe is going to be looking to bounce back after his season was cut short due to a knee injury and to hopefully lock in a spot as the team's closer. Non-roster invitees like JB Bukauskas, Tyler Jay, Deivi Garcia (former Yankee alert), and Bruce Zimmermann are all varying degrees of interesting as pitching options coming into spring training as well.

The long wait is nearly over. After a few workouts and countless cliches and platitudes about this coming season, the Brewers are going to be playing baseball and everyone should be able to celebrate that.
