The Milwaukee Brewers have reinstated left-handed pitcher DL Hall from the 60-day injured list, marking his long-awaited return after a lat strain sidelined him right before spring training. In a corresponding move, right-hander Logan Henderson — who has more than impressed in limited action — was optioned back to Triple-A Nashville.
Hall, one of the key pieces acquired in the blockbuster Corbin Burnes trade with Baltimore, rejoins the big-league roster at a critical juncture in the Brewers’ rotation plans. His arsenal features a 93-mph fastball with decent ride, a fading changeup, a curveball, and an occasionally used slider. Despite the lively stuff, Hall has yet to fully harness his potential at the major league level.
Brewers make difficult decision of demoting Henderson to make room for Hall
In 13 appearances for the Brewers last season — including seven starts — Hall posted a 5.02 ERA across 43 innings. He flashed some swing-and-miss ability with 44 strikeouts but also battled command issues, leading to walks and high-leverage struggles. After missing significant time due to a knee sprain in 2024, Hall’s durability and consistency remain question marks.
Meanwhile, Logan Henderson has every reason to feel a bit defeated. The rookie right-hander was very strong in his debut stint, going 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA and 29 strikeouts over 21 innings. He also excelled in Triple-A with a 2.40 ERA through six starts, giving the club few reasons to doubt his long-term potential. Still, with Hall needing a roster spot and minor league options available, Henderson becomes a casualty of circumstance — at least for now.
Hall’s return feeds into a broader narrative for Milwaukee. 2025 is shaping up to be a year of auditions. With veterans like Nestor Cortes, José Quintana, Aaron Civale, and the injured Brandon Woodruff all entering free agency this offseason, the Brewers are evaluating what their next era of pitching could look like.
In Triple-A, the club is stockpiling intriguing arms. Along with Henderson, Tobias Myers, and Carlos Rodriguez, who is currently up on the big league roster, top prospect Jacob Misiorowski is blowing up the radar gun and posting eye-popping strikeout totals. Henderson will surely be back with the Brewers in the near future and should be a big part of their future rotation plans.
