Baseball players seem to be the most likely to get hurt in unusual ways. Sammy Sosa sneezing, Trevor Bauer playing with his drone, and Francisco Rodriguez stepping on a cactus all come to mind as just some of the examples ways that players got hurt outside of playing the game they love. Unfortunately, the Milwaukee Brewers are not immune.
Brewers fans now have another have another injury that will make them shake their heads, or maybe cause them to laugh. As the team prepares to start the 2025 season, details of Abner Uribe's 2024 season ending injury are coming to light.
Steve Sparks and the phone book, Matt Wise and the salad tongs, K-Rod and the cactus. Now there’s another entry to the weird injuries in Brewers history.

When Abner Uribe tore his meniscus last season in Triple-A, he did it playing Hacky Sack. https://t.co/YabZ95KUh1
Abner Uribe's injury came because of Hacky Sack. No, seriously...that is what happened
Jokes aside, Uribe seems to have made a full recovery from the injury. If Uribe is able to return right away from injury, he will still have to serve his 4 game suspension from the bench clearing incident from last spring when the Brewers came to blows with the Tampa Bay Rays.
MLB has announced suspensions from the Rays/Brewers benches-clearing incident last night:

Uribe did address the situation has caused him to work on controlling his emotions and is focused on helping the team, as he told Adam McCalvy “This year means a lot for me. I’m ready to work, man. I put all of my heart into this process, to work hard and get my body to work the whole year. I’m not going to lie, I’m ready to go.”
Getting the young flame thrower back healthy and dedicated is a massive win for the Brewers. After trading Devin Williams to the Yankees, Milwaukee will need another option to go with Trevor Megill at the back end of the bullpen. Uribe recorded 3 saves last season, and held a 2-2 record prior to the demotion to Triple A Nashville, and the ensuing injury.
