The Milwaukee Brewers have built a reputation around the league this year as a tight-knit, hard-working team that wins by doing all the little things right. By executing in all facets of the game, they’ve made small ball exciting again, and it's required total team buy-in to make this happen. As a result of everyone embracing the approach, there have been consistent opportunities for everyone to contribute at the plate, and here’s one history-making stat that proves it.

Historic stat shows that the Milwaukee Brewers' 2025 success is team driven

For quite some time, the Brewers have had the best record in baseball, despite not having a roster full of household names. However, this group has had a plethora of quiet contributors throughout the year, and according to OptaSTATS, as of Tuesday night, they are the first MLB team since at least 1920 to have six players with at least 50 RBI and 15 stolen bases.

The six Brewers with at least 50 RBI and 15 stolen bases are Christian Yelich (99 RBI and 16 SB), Jackson Chourio (76 RBI and 18 SB), Brice Turang (75 RBI and 24 SB), Sal Frelick (61 RBI and 19 SB), Isaac Collins (54 RBI and 16 SB), and Caleb Durbin (50 RBI and 16 SB).

In total, Milwaukee has seven players with at least 50 RBI this season. William Contreras (76) is among them, though he wasn’t mentioned earlier due to having just six stolen bases. Reaching that number is a significant achievement as it's the first time since 2017 that the Brewers have had seven players hit the 50-RBI mark.

That 2017 group included Travis Shaw (101), Domingo Santana (85), Eric Thames (63), Orlando Arcia (53), Jesús Aguilar (52), Ryan Braun (52), and Hernán Pérez (51). Notably, the Brewers also had six players with 50 or more RBI in 2019, 2022, and 2024.

Circling back to this year’s team, the Brewers’ success stems from a remarkable balance of contributions across the roster. While Christian Yelich has returned to form, Brice Turang has made significant strides at the plate, and Sal Frelick is a contender for the batting title, it’s clear that this is a true team effort, and the fact that they are the only MLB team since 1920 with six players with at least 50 RBI and 15 stolen bases backs that up.

While the national media will continue to discuss the Brewers’ lack of power as a reason to be concerned about their chances in October, what should be the headline heading into the postseason is the relentless attack that Milwaukee's offense sends out every night. With players at the bottom of their order eclipsing the 50 RBI mark, the Brewers truly do have one of the deepest lineups in baseball. Should they have a successful postseason run next month, their lineup depth will be a major factor.
